By this time, you've hopefully been able to check out our Daily PowerPoints that we use in class. I hope that these have been helpful to you in understanding a little more of what goes on every day in class. Students and parents have been telling me that these are very helpful especially when they have been absent from school.
I generally use a PowerPoint presentation to guide our lessons for the day. Included on each presentation is the day’s DLR, a check of the previous day’s homework, an outline of the day’s lesson, an activity we do together, and a reminder of the day’s homework. If there are any worksheets that I hand out for the students to do, you may be able to download those at my SharePoint page as well.
A note about worksheets for download at SharePoint: I can only scan and post worksheets if I have permission from the publisher to do so. I haven’t received permission from all of the publishers that I use, so I can’t post all worksheets. A good example is what we’ve been using this week and will continue to use next week. Please keep in mind that I am scanning these to help avoid the excuses we’ve all heard, such as “I left my worksheet at school.” If children forget their work at school, and I’m not able to post a worksheet Online, it does not excuse them from doing the work. They are still responsible for the work, and will still receive a zero for their daily homework grade if it’s not completed.
