1. How old was Michael when he started drinking? Do you think if he’d waited to start drinking until he was 21, that it would have made a difference? Why?
2. What do you think the percentage of GMS students who have tried alcohol might be? How do they get alcohol and how does it affect them? What can parents, teachers and other students do to help?
3. What percentage of GMS students might live in homes where alcohol is a problem? How does that impact everyone who lives in that home?
4. How many students do you think live in homes where alcohol is a problem? How do you think that affects everyone in the home?
5. Do you think the music business had an effect on Michael’s drinking problem? Are there other high risk professions or does it not matter?
6. Describe the way Michael died and discuss why you think it was important to him to get this story out. How do you think his son is doing?
7. Do you think people are more or less likely to have a drinking problem if they came from a home where there was alcoholism? Is there a genetic link?
